The Eastern Ontario Moving Mandala of 2012 took place on land stewarded by Alison Logee. She and her husband have made many changes to the place with spiritual connection in mind. Brenda chose the sites on the land where we could meet as a circle (under a grove of trees) and where we would have our sessions. The wisdom of these choices unfolded as we came through the initiations of the 7 chakra levels and entered the final Mandala Dance space, at the level of Archetypes.
Lucie Brunet, an enthusiast of the Moving Mandala, promoted it to her full moon drumming group. Having a local community involved was one of the strengths of this Moving Mandala, as a core group moved through considerations about marketing, meal planning, costing and hosting. Bonita Ford brought her unique joyful energy to this process.
By the time of the workshop, Lucie was in a stage of ALS illness that prevented her from participating in the main program, but her energy was part of the spirit and manifestation of the circle, and she came to the final Mandala Dance, where a ritual of recommitment was created for her and her husband, David Sherwood.
The community around Lucie and David attended the dance/ritual and echoed the commitment shown in their dedication to the path and in their organization of this Moving Mandala. For Brenda and me, it was a pleasure to walk in and find that all was prepared, and that a wonderful group of participants invited from the local community and other parts of Ontario awaited our arrival.
Mary-Ann Hobé was our chef and cook, and she was right in the centre of our hearts and stomachs and the common space as she prepared our meals. We had the sense of Mother Earth’s abundance and real caring that supported our needs.
Many who took that Moving Mandala said that their lives moved into another place on the spiral of their path, or that they received an affirmation of their path. We can thank the community in Eastern Ontario where the Moving Mandala was held, as well as the ancestors of that land, for welcoming us.
