The Journey Continues after the Session
For those of us who do shamanic work, it’s important to have self care between the sessions.
After the session it would be helpful to drink extra water for 4 days to keep you in the flow of the energy.
Journal, draw, paint, sing, dance, express the medicine in ways that honour it and brings it to this reality in a creative way. Take action in relationship to yourself, others or the environment if your messages were about initiating, maintaining, restoring or repairing a relationship to yourself, a person, a group, or a place or situation.
Remember that the journey continues until you journey with another question, so look for messages form spirit that show you your continuing connection to non-ordinary reality, e.g. unusual behaviour of a bird or animal, new information that comes to you related to your question, new behaviour on the part of someone you asked about, an opportunity opening up for your occupation, a change in your residence, an unexpected gift, a chance to do something you have always wanted to do.
Those examples of messages above indicate that you are connected, that your work is putting you in the flow, and that you are grounding your intentions. If you take action on your journeys then you bring them into being in ordinary reality. The whole point of doing shamanic practice is to integrate it into your life, so don’t leave the session at the shaman’s or in your psychic drawer compartment, bring it to the earth realm for the benefit of yourself and all beings.
And give thanks. This can take many forms, prayer, a song, tobacco offerings, putting out a spirit plate, ritualize your gratitude daily….
