Join Nancy Dancing Light Sherwood, seasoned shamanic grandmother, and Brenda Marita Mason from New Brunswick, in a course designed to support enjoyment of the moment. We can remember our spiritual roots and grow a creative response to the challenges and opportunities of this young century.
Course Description:
(formerly Mandala Hologram Dance Project for Peace)
We
offer a program for those who want to embody the sacredness
of the world through movement, sound, and visual arts. By entering a state
of non-linear awareness we can "create" the world as our ancestors
did during the centuries before we became disconnected from our own nature
and being.
A seven step experiential training connects us to a way of knowing that can help us realign mind, heart and body. We will be energetically journeying through our chakras while allowing them to speak their truth.
We will engage in a practice known as shapeshifting within a container that holds us in an architecture of Light. These principles align with the Moving Mandala, which can awaken us to see reality as it is, in its wholeness.
Participants do not need to know about shamanism, mandalas or even chakras but do need to let go of preconceptions and be open to what arises in each moment. We will learn to hold the centre together as a moving circle, and will integrate our experiences in an eighth session, when we share with trained dancers and invited community.
Sessions are half day or evening:
- Earth: survival, physical being, family, root
- Water: relationships, creativity, flow, sacral
- Fire: personal power, selfless service, solar plexus
- Air: love, compassion, heart
- Space/Sound: communication, manifesting dreams, faith
- Pure Light: intuition, self-realization
- Divine Mind: pure energy, transcendence, illumination
- Presentation/Archetypes: Soul
Registration requires a letter explaining why you want to take this course and what kind of experiences and spiritual practices you have had in the past and present. Your communication will help us determine what is needed to support you and helps you focus as well.
Your Commitments:
You will be asked to commit to coming in plenty of time to be ready to start, will be given self-reflective questions and notes to read outside, and will be given an opportunity to make a sacred object for your own use, to be finished before the last session. You will be asked to share what you have learned with people that are important to you in your life as the last session is a group presentation. We invite our friends to join after we have danced a 12-point mandala together as a class. This is like getting out of your own way and letting your Light shine through, with lots of supportive people in the room.
For full benefit of this gift to ourselves, we need give ourselves time to do our home-based work carefully, so that we can integrate the teachings. We all need to understand that this often profound experience will bring changes to the way we might ordinarily think or do things, and that participants need to continue their regular practices such as meditation, journeying, yoga, as well as to work on the notes and sacred art. Information about what to bring and other details will come to participants when they send a deposit.
Our Commitments
- To provide a container strong enough to allow you safety and to leave space for spirit to move you.
- To provide support during the process so that you are not alone with your fears and/or concerns.
- To create opportunities for you to practice being in the moment within a community circle.
- To allow you spontaneous choices to make for yourself so that you experience a greater sense of your connection with all beings.
- To create an energy field of wholeness so that the field can hold diversity.
