Traveller’s Joy and Soul
Traveller’s Joy has been initiated for soul healing. Pilgrimage makes it possible for the energetic parts of ourselves that have been lost through our ancestors’ displacement, or through similar dislocation experienced in our own lives, to be returned. We take time to visit and interact with places we call sacred sites, where the ancestors still remembered how to co-create with the spirits, where villages were built amid what was considered a sacred landscape, and where spiritual practices were not separate from the rest of people’s lives.
This sense of wholeness and of the earth as our home has been lost to many in contemporary times. Harmony can poteintially be restored by taking time out for ourselves on the lands of our bloodline origins and of our spiritual lineages. The restoration of those lineages comes when we visit and participate with the sites where people worshipped, practised ritual, and gathered for the sake of the community. When we approach these places with awareness, we realize how much has been lost and we can come in touch with both our grief and our joy. Grief that we have forgotten our connections and joy that we can reconnect through spirit.
This notion of going on a trip to do what it is we most often avoid, is a surrender. The longing that we feel about being disconnected from our own nature, is avoided by modern busy-busy. To allow ourselves to empty out is a major step in our rebirth. By taking time to relase and then to fill up with the experience of pilgrimage we can nourish body, mind, spirit, and soul.
By allowing ourselves time to tune into the energies of these ancient sites, we can heal the past within our family tree or our past lives and create the space needed to nourish and protect our souls in the future. By taking time out we may rergain the perspective that the soul is always moving toward the Light, lifetime to lifetime and that by entering these timeless places we restore our vitality and health!
Allowed to participate in the ecstasy of connection, whether meditating or dancing, journeying, or praying, we move toward a fuller basis of being. We stop doing so many mindless things and slow down to enjoy the process of our journey through this lifetime.
In these challenging times we must keep ourselves fed at all levels, in order to embrace the evolving consciousness of the Light in ourselves and all beings. In order to receive as much Light as we can, we have to practice opening up to it. We are emerging from a dark age when materialism ruled, and the process of rebalancing is to see the spirit in all things, to feel the animation behind every being, and to respond to life in a more compassionate way.
The sacred sites that we visit can be protected by government, such as those in state historic sites, they can be neglected by time and left for the few dowsers who wander through, or they can be contemporary sites supported by a community and /or healing centre.
One of the challenges of rising real estate costs is that these sites are endangered, and if they are not owned by the state, by land trusts, or other associations, access to them can disappear. Traveller’s Joy is dedicated to the use and preservation and of such sites.
Traveller’s Joy offers you a chance to remember your soul essence, by going to sacred places local or distant. There you can be supported by a community circle of both the living and the ancestral spirits, in order to retrieve the lost parts of yourself. What you have to gain is contact with your soul.
